About the Fortune Slip Tradition
In Taoist temples across Asia, seekers draw a numbered bamboo stick from a cylinder — a practice called ling qian (灵签), or "oracle slips." Each stick corresponds to a verse of guidance, traditionally attributed to the wisdom of the sages. The Daily Taoist Oracle honors this tradition in a simple digital form: one slip per day, drawn with intention.
Each oracle is paired with one of the eight core talismans consecrated at DeHuiTang — from the Noble Person Talisman (贵人符) to the Career Success Talisman (事业符) — so today's guidance can travel with you.
